touchscreen phone for a 12 year old

anyone got any recomendations for a phone for a twelve year old, preferably touchscreen and with a good camera. he has suggested the lg cookie and the samsung tocco. your opinions would be grately appreciated.

Just bought my daughter the LG Cookie 501 (500 is old model). She loves it!! Hasn't put it down since last weekend. We bought it from Orange for £58.99 plus a £20 topup, they come with a free gift of Skull Candy headphones which she will get at xmas with a few extra bits worth £60 altogether (headphones worth £35). I looked all over for the best deal and most deals were on the 500 which meant they were basically getting rid of old stock - so beware, have heard of probs with 500. Hope this helps.

I've got the Tocco Lite as Im a touchscreen newbie and its fantastic - looks lovely and is nice and easy to use. Camera seems half decent too.

but i saw one in carphone warehouse and it was 29.00 when brought with 10.00 top up its a nokia one not sure of the number

Go and win one in the Samsung comp running now. A few MSE guys have this week already.
You could have had the one I won but sadly I haven't got it yet lol
Tocco has a better camera than the one I won, all SS mobiles seem to have a specific thing they are better at than the others. I'm pretty sure I saw one that was aimed at kids the other day while researching clues for that comp on the https://www.samsungmobile.co.uk site.
