Have you tried a library? My daughter gets two reading books a week from school, but we still have to go and get loads every Saturday from the library for her, just to satisfy her desire to read. Is it her teachers fault that she's not reading?0 -

Yes we go to the library very often, infact we went on Thursday after school, but in the real world teacher should be sending all the children in her class home with reading books..surely ?
My Daughter brings very little homework home yet I thought they had a certain amount that they were supposed to be given during every week. Its only this term with the new teacher where she is not given reading books very often.0 -
My daughter is in reception and I cant fault her teacher (and assistants), the teacher is firm, but fun when the time is right, although my DD calls her boring cause she makes the children work hard

I would just go and ask the teacher. Sometimes I forget! He/ she may have a different system to the last teacher - maybe they choose their own books or need to tell him/ her before they can change - this is what my children do as I hear them read a different set of books weekly in groups.0
