sky+ and telephone line

I don't plug mine into the phone line, it works fine, just reminds you sometimes that it's unplugged.
The reason I removed it as my naughty daughter was using it to play the stupid games and ran up a bill of over £175.
It only needs to be connected if you subscribe to XXX and some other services.0
