I know what you mean, I lost my mum 6 years ago and Christmas always hurts, especially now I've got children and she's not here to see them. She would have been a lovely grandma.

My lovely FIL finally lost his fight with cancer this morning. We are just glad that he has stopped hurting.

Hopefully get some time later on to get some stuff done. I must at least do the DW before I go to work - the next week or so is hideously complicated and if I dont get a little bit done now then we will sink in the slime.
big hugs for you too , Christmas is not a nice time to lose loved ones, not that any time of year is really.
