Right, I've had enough. I think a day at home has done me good, and I now only have 56 emails in my inbox, some of which need things saving onto the drive at work before I can file them....this morning i had about 100
I'm going to head out for a coffee with my book and to pick up a couple of bits for dinner, then back to wash up before DH gets home.
Friend popping over tonight, managed to get a 40% off voucher for both of us as I referred her to my hair salon
Actually, not sure if I'm bothered about a coffee, but do need to go to M&S so we'll see...Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
L-L, that's just plain, all out mean, not telling you that you results are delayed. I hope it's good news for you, though - I'm positive we're all praying and hoping it is! At least I am!!! :happylove
Thank you everyone for your support with my TM and TGM - and I have told them on the phone, this morning the following -
Firstly to my TM (toxic mother, I take it?)
"No, mother, you may not have my card, do my shopping, clean up or tell me about my education." Her response was predictable - "BWAHHHAHAHAHAH, I WANTED TO YOU TO LET ME COME TO YOUR HOUSE, I'M LONELY!!! I’M JUST TRYING TO KEEP YOU HEALTHY AND HAPPY SO IT’S NOT FAIR FOR YOU TO DO THIS TO ME – I JUST WANTED TO HELP YOU!!! IT'S NOT FAIR - COME UP HERE AND HAVE DINNER WITH US AND YOU SHOULD LET ME BUY A SOFA BECAUSE I NEED ONE BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" She really doesn’t by the way – her sofa now is about three years old and has hardly been sat on, never mind damaged enough to qualify to be dumped and a new one brought. I said no, again and I got this…..
"But I'm only trying to help YOU!":mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
My response to that was putting the phone down after saying, "That may be but you're not coming down." I wasn't mean, just matter of fact - I had told her throughout the conversation that it wasn't going to happen so - you know. Life is going to be difficult but less so now she's stopping (hopefully) invading my space. She was still ranting though when I put the phone down but I took a deep breath and thought about how long it had taken me to do that – about nineteen years, so help me God. SO was beside me and had listened to everything (half the time I had my head in his lap (get your minds out the gutter!)) so he knew exactly what she said. He told me I was very brave, and he loved me lots and could he get up because he needed to go put the tates on. Isn't he such a romantic~?
As for my grandmother - I spoke to her last night and told her that basically, I wouldn't be coming down until at least February, and I would not take any hostages when I did - it would be a two to three day max visit, and I would bring down the SO, and his two brothers (one of whom owns a van he says we can borrow) and we would clear, clean and chuck everything we could. I want to get her out of her house since it’s a council house and too big for just her and my grandfather. She’s got to go into an assisted living place since she’s so unsteady on her feet and dodgy about her medication – she needs a nurse but they won’t come to the house more than twice a week because they only deliver and give medication, but they won’t take her when she’s got so much stuff that you can barely move room to room.
She was all, “But I want you to come down NOW! IT'S NOT FAIR...YOU SAID YOU WERE COMING DOWN SOONER...I'M TOO SICK AND ILL TO BE DOING THIS, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO ME..." She has my mother to call on, or any of my two brothers or two sisters so she’s not alone. I warned her I wouldn’t carry her any more and I needed some time to myself to dedicate to study and regeneration of my nerves (metaphorically, of course):o. After that, I told her quietly but firmly, I would not be coming down until Feb at the earliest, and I would not be going to Xmas dinner as she had managed to get into her head that I was. Then I put the phone down, lay back on the sofa and treated myself to three hours of NCIS, Mythbusters and half of X-Men before going to bed. :beer:It was nice to sit and have something to drink and not have to worry about it~
So, all in all - I made one cry, and another cry and be angry but I feel much better for it. I no longer have such pressure to go down there - and now, I can go away (we leave this Saturday and come back on Tuesday - ) with SO and we're renting a lovely little cottage in Devon for a break. It'll be quite bleak but so much more of a relief to be away from everything and anything. Maybe we'll even find some time to be alone which, I will admit, has become a bit of a rarity with my TM/TGM living in my ear rabbiting on.
So thank you for your advice, and let it be known that I took it and ran with it - and now I have half an hour before I go see one of my tutors at the local college (I don't go to uni because I had a year out of A Levels - so I'm doing another year of college to get the results I need~)0 -
I have only just got in from work. I am posting my list and what I hav done from my dailies, I will be flying later on.

Thanks everyone. He was a kind, generous man who loved food, wine and gardening so we got on like a house on fire. We will miss him very much - Christmas just wont be Christmas without Grandad. Not told the littles yet. May wait till the weekend. No such thing as a good time though.
Lady L - that just isn't fair. I hope you get the best news you can as soon as possible.
Carlsberg - good news on the baby. Stretch marks - I used the palmers cocoa butter (try Home & Bargains and/or £shop) stuff and don't have any from babies. I do have them from weight loss though when I didnt bother using anything.

Clear the floor of clutter ... I'm in the middle of wrapping presents at your insistence, so no chance
Tidy the baubles and lights on the tree.. OR PUT UP YOUR TREE ... tree is in the attic, and step ladder is inaccessible, so I can't do this - I might, just might, get a real tree nearer the time. However, I have put up lights round the fireplace and kitchen window to compensate
