Nokia x6 (1200) at Phones4U
Hi,
my Fiancee is on Orange and due an upgrade Jan 27th (3 months before actual contract is up). She has seen the Nokia X6 (also known as the 1200) that she loves the look of. However it seems the phone is exclusive to Phones4U. Is it possible to get it direct from Orange as an upgrade, or does anybody in the know have an idea of when other sellers will be able to get it?
She signed up direct with Orange so doubt Phones4U will be able to do her upgrade for her!
Any help would be great.

Im sure orange would be able to do it directly, you could give them a call.
What i would do is wait till about April and request your PAC code so that orange retentions gives you a call to offer you a deal, say your after the Nokia X6 and see what they can come up with.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Thanks for that DC, not sure she can wait till then, had the SE 902i and is sick of it....WORST PHONE EVER!!0

Fair enough, just give orange a call directly (150) from the orange mobile and ask to be put through to the upgrade team. Explain to them when your upgrade is due and see if they can put you on that phone you want.
The advantage of waiting to the end is you can usually get the phone + a reduction in tariff price or something extra.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

You can upgrade in Phones4u if you got your phone originally direct. The only downside is that Orange won't offer much support for the phone if it goes wrong. Also, be careful with Phones4u and stress it's an upgrade you want and not a new connection. They're notorious for this and leaving people with two contracts running.
I've not seen the phone advertised on our stock updates as being launched, thats not to say it won't though. Giving upgrades a call now won't do anything as they can't do anything but advise they don't have the phone and couldn't even tell you what phones would be free at this point.0 -
Buy it separately and ask Orange to change it to a sim only contract.
