The Toyota garage I got the car from has recommended a guy they use. Apparantly he does work for a lot of the garages locally (ie BMW, Audi) and his work comes with a 3 year guarantee. From my explanation he thought it would cost about £80 and he'd only need to do half the panel. He's going to come and give me a quote. I thought I'd also ask him for contacts of other people he's done work for aswell, just so I know he's good at his job and I won't end up with a bodge job!
I've also had a quote from a local body repair shop I have used before for £200.
The scratch is quite bad as it is down to the primer0 -
price will depend on it being an insurance job or a cash job.. i got my corsa rear quater painted for £80 from a local bodyshop but i didnt get him to blend he said it wasnt worth doing the car was 10 years old at the time..
bu around £100-£150 ish seems about right for a cash jobSealed pot challenger # 10

unfortunately post 10 would seem to rule it out but if it was possible I would go with the replace from scrapyard route.
A few months ago someone thoughtfully put a dent in my wing and did a runner. I went to a bodyshop and was told it would cost £300+ to repair and blend in the paintwork afterwards. There was no way I was paying that so I was prepared to wait a few weeks until a wing of the same colour turned up at a scrappers. It duly did and only cost £40. It took me a couple of hours to fit it myself but I enjoyed doing so and now it looks as good as new.0 -
My girlfriend made a little dent to the drivers side front wing of her Honda Civic.
I took it to Honda and was told it would need a new wing, with respray etc it was going to cost £850, which seemed a lot for a dent.
I went to a repair shop where I had my car repaired a while ago at and he repaired her car, including respray that matched up, and it is as good as new, without replacing the wing, for £185.
So, it is well worth shopping around or asking friends etc if they have had any work done.
Most of the good respray shops are always busy because of word of mouth.
MartinBeen there, done that, now I want to do it cheaper!!0
