How much to respray back panel of car?
Hi
Some little S*** has been very thoughtful and decided to key my car, just above the petrol cap. It's quite deep and about 30cm long. It's just one scratch. Can anyone let me know please how much roughly I should be paying for a respray job for the back panel? I presume the whole panel would need to be redone.
I have a 6 year old Yaris in non metallic blue.
Thanks

Its really difficult to quote without actually seeing the vehicle. I'd hazzard a guess at around £100 to £150 for a good job.Genie

I'm in Wakefield. I just wanted to get a rough idea as when I was going to get my old car touched up - 2 panels I got quoted ridiculous figures. Perhaps it's because I'm female. I just don't want to get ripped off. Does anyone have any recommendations where to get it done please?0

if you want to save some money mate go to a scrap dealer and find out how much they want for a back panel, is usually cheaper than getting it resprayed as car respraying is a very expensive job0 -
if it was somewhere where you usually park i wouldn't get it repaired too often, this happened to a friend, they day after the repair a scratch was put back in the exact same place and it became a game for the scratcher0

back panel is small on a yaris i'd give chips away a call see if they can repair just the scratch. rather than the whole panel.0

The back panel in this case is actually a rear wing/rear quarter panel, ie, not removeable,I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

if you were closer I'd do it for you.
total paint and materials cost = £20-£30
2-3 hours labour = varies depending on where you go
that said, if the scratch isn't too bad you may find it'll come out using a Porter Cable (A random orbit polisher). take it to a valeting/paint correction plac and ask if they can "mop" it to remove the scratch. they'll soon tell you if the scratch is too deep to be cut out.GREENS M'SHIP OFFER NOW CLOSED SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ME!Olympic Debt-free Challenge £2150/£11900 = 18.0%NOW INVESTIGATING AN ALTERNATIVE TO MY IVA - I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ONE ANY MORE!0 -
