Breaking contracts

Any advice would be much appreciated. Here's the (reduced) story: I have a contract with 3 until April 2010. The reception where I live has never been great, but it's got worse recently, despite their 'postcode detector customer service operatives' telling me that it should be fine. The pricing and package that I'm on is great (about £26 a month) but I have to stand by my back door for conversations. My question is, is it worth breaking the contract and changing networks (T-Mobile is 100% here) or stick it out?

You'll pay 5 (or 6) x monthly rental to breakl the contract, depending when your billed in the month. So as your paying £26 a month thats £130 to £156. Only you can decide if thats worth it to you, if you use the phone for business and your losing calls it may be, if you just use it to call/ text mates it may not.

Have you called 3 and talked to them, it could be a mast is being repaired and it's a short tem thing, or it could be something that will never get fixed (say a mast being decomissioned), or it could even be your phone at fault. You'll probably also find no mobileco says you cna use a phone indorrs, the constructions of you house can be so different to anyne else that it's impossible to give a predition. Post Code checker usually only show outdoor coverage, but 3's does show if you should have indoor reception or not, did that say you were in a good area?

I had a similar problem with 02 in my area.

I started getting really bad reception about 10 months ago, but had to stick with it - as i couldn't afford to buy out of the contract. It is a bit of a pain, but i just had to get used to it.

I'm glad to say, i'm in my last month now and can't wait to switch over to Orange (where the reception in my area is 100% :j).

I personally wouldn't buy out of the contract, it's just too much money to pay out.
(But, i suppose if you have quite an expensive phone - you could sell it, to cover the costs. Then get another phone with your new contract).
