Bradford + Bingley accounts got new sort code and account numbers when they were absorbed into the evil empire earlier this year.

That is probably because their sort code was provided by a competitor to Santander (Like Egg has an HSBC sort code) and was moved onto an Abbey code

As Santander is taking over the A&L sortcode set, they don't really have a reason to change anything

As simon templar says, any changes won't havppen until next year - and are likely to have not been looked into much, the focus being on integrating the Abbey and B&B businesses.

I agree. There's no sensible reason for A&L sort codes and account numbers to change, but the current A&L 9 digit account number thing will doubtless disappear to be replaced with the "more convenient" ;) system of having to remember 6 digits + 8 digits like at every other bank.
