Amazing - you read some of the listings and quite a lot have managed to lose the receipt :rotfl:

When you check completed listings - someone bought one tonight at 8pm £48 inc P+P. Why? WHY? The offer's on all week! If desperate, why not buy one yesterday for £2 more and get the ad points and money off from the machine.

    WHY??!!!

At a guess, I would say the buyers are maybe love-struck young men. ;)
Their girlfriends may have asked for this, and finding it is now sold out online & in most Boot's stores, they have to have one and price just doesn't come into it. :D

Yes I agree - or promised to buy one today and forgot or were too late going :o

No, I reckon you're absolutely right. But their excuse wouldn't wash with ebay, because there is no way they would have made another mistake and listed it as a Buy It Now for £1, instead of, say, £25!

I said it before, but I'll say it again ...................... this board was such fun last night! Thanks to everyone for the great posts.

And I was right, wasn't I, when I said that in half an hour you'd want to kill that couple on the holding page! The skeleton mock-up was brilliant!!!!

Have a good weekend, and a good Christmas, and see you all in the sales!

    xx

Last night/early AM was great fun on here, really reminded me of the old Boots thread....I think I will be seeing that couple in my dreams for the next few weeks, his orange tan and her massive teeth are imprinted on my mind!!! :rotfl:

Those ebay sellers should be ashamed of themselves but they won't be, where this is a bargain sadly there will always be someone there to take advantage of it!
  • Makes me sick that people were buying them up just to sell on ebay. Different if they are genuinely for gifts!!

Boots should have limited 2 per customer or something. Harsh on those who are genuinely buying but would stop the greedy ebay folks!! Grrrr

    xx

The Boots my oh went to limited it to 3 per person after a woman tried to buy 6. When she got upset the store person tried to explain that it wasn't fair for everyone waiting behing her if she bought so many. Then she said it wasn't fair on her as she was planning on buying another 6 when she'd bought the first 6. Not sure how many she got in the end!! My oh also said women were walking round with 3 on each arm  And when the cashier asked how many he wanted she was suprised when he said "1 please" :rotfl:

I agree they'll make brilliant xmas gifts, specially for the price but hey it's xmas... good will to all men and all that!! Share the love and give everyone a chance.
Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.
  • Bought mine today at 5p.m. and there were loads of "hat boxes" left. The promotion goes on to Christmas Eve - I doubt my local Boots will have cleared its stock of these by then.

    So, where was this?

I have one, but I'm sure other posters would appreciate this information. Thanks.

It's actually not that bad, once you know what you're doing.

This is quite a good little tutorial if you're interested.

Alternatively, cover it in cellophane and add a bow :D

Seriously, it's not that bad :)
