CHeating & Hot water problem

I have a new Worcestor Bosch boiler with new controls, tank thermostat, wireless room thermostat, radiator valves etc. The last couple of weeks it seems that the water is heating up even though the programmer is showing thats its not on. The CH and Hot water can be programmed independently and the hw is only on for 75mins morning and night. In the morning the HW is fine as the CH is only on for a couple of hours but when the CH is on all evening, by bedtime the water is too hot to put your hand in. I tested the tank thermostat this am by emptying the tank and then putting the thermostat down to 35degrees and putting the HW on for an hour. This was fine and the water was warm. Yet this evening with the CH on by 7pm its really hot again despite having only been on for the 75mins. So it seems to be something to do with the CH . Can someone offer any suggestions.

First thing to check is that the immersion heater isn't switched on!

After that we need to know what sort of control system you have, a valve with three pipes going into it or 2 seperate ones with two pipes?

If it's relatively new why not ask the original installer to sort it?

Renegade the OPs boiler isn't a combi, might be easier to start your own thread with a clear description of the problem and the make/model of the boiler.
Mine needed a new fan so that must be whats wrong with yours:D

The valve is a Danfoss with alever that can switch from side to side for Auto & Man.(its on Auto/ There is one connection going in from a T shape of pipes. One pipe goes to the hw tank, one gos down into the floor and the other goes up to the pump.
The boiler is a Worcestor Bosch Greenstar, we still have the tanks in the loft.

When you have heating on only does the pipe from the valve to the cylinder get hot?

Did you check the immersion heater?

No, the immersion is not plugged in.
The pipe from the valve goes up to a with a bleeding screw on the top and a joint with the pipe to the tank. Have just been up a felt it and yes its hot. from the valve joint round to the tank and up to the bleeding screw and the C/H is still on.

Good question from razor. Your answer indicates that the valve is probably letting water through to the cylinder. It may just be worn or old, but as you have work done, it is worth checking firstly is the valve 3 position? and if so, is it actually sat normally at mid position?

Yes, right. You are missing the point. It must have 2 positions when you consider it as a valve, namely, Heating and Water. It may have a third position which is Mid.

No, the there is def. only 2 positions marked. The valve is a DANFOSS type HSA3. It is installed on its side with the word DANFOSS upright not across. Looking straight at it as its installed, on the top is marked MAN on the left AUTO on the right with a sliding lever which is on AUTO. There are no other markings on it. On the Right hand side edge (not on the front) is a paper marker with an arrow for hot water one way and c/heating the other.
