look how many Muppets on here have the free anti virus installed and have problems ! also if a company does a free version & also a paid version which version do you think is better ?
Well first up ~ im one of those 'muppets' and dont have problems
As for your second point, id say youve shot yourself in the foot there. In example, both AVG and AVIRAS paid for products are worse when you pay for them as their firewalls are unsafe:idea:0 -
First off your old version of Norton might not have a Windows 7 compatibility and it might not be a free upgrade to this version anyway.
secondly don't listen to some of the rubbish here, free AV software is usually to the home user only for the sole reason of getting people used to it in hope it gets recommended at corporate level where they will be charged. I have used Norton, McAfee, AVG and now Avast and I can tell you for a fact that my Avast free copy has been better than any of my other AV's.
If you couple this together with your Windows free firewall and a bit of ad removal software you can keep your computer completly secure for free. I have not had a virus in years.0 -
If you do want to have norton back on your netbook, after upgrading this isnt a problem.
Do you still have the case it came in? on the back is a website address especially for netbook users to download the full program from, but bear in mind you will need to have have the cd case with the key, for you to enable to get it working, but you dont need the cd.Awaiting Inspiration......................0 -
norton=bloated pig
clamwin and a couple of spyware scanners does it for me,no need for crap slowing things down in the background

Right if you remember my original post it wasn't to ask if Norton was good or bad or if you had an alternative package. For some reason that's what it has turned in to!!
If you can't answer the original question don't bother posting- if you want a debate on who the biggest and best set up a new thread!!!!!!!0 -
