Norton Internet Security

I've got Norton Internet Security on my PC but I'm about to do a clean upgrade to W7 so I'll end up loosing it.

The problem I have is when I come to re-install it i've misplaced the CD through a recent house move (I'm sure its somewhere!!)

I can get the product key via my account at Norton but I was wondering where could I download the software?

Any ideas?

Thanks

You won't legally be able to download the software because you've lost your CD. Norton is rubbish anyway.

Do yourself a favour and get rid of Norton - it causes more problems than it solves! Get the free download for Avira. If you're not sure, just look back thru the old posts to see what other people think of Norton and also what the techie guys say about Avira.

Sorry, should have mentioned that you if you do decide to drop Norton then you will need to download the Norton removal tool - you can't just get rid of it via the 'Add or Remove' option.

    Is that so?

OP is planning to do "a clean upgrade to W7 so I'll end up loosing it".

Norton is perfectly OK. It has good detection rates and a reasonable impact on system performance.

I choose not to use it personally, but it's a bit much to say that it "causes more problems than it solves".

As for the original question, when you sign into your account is there no option of download it? Can you download a trial version and then use your product key with it?

Norton is much much MUCH better than it used to be.

if you have the product key, then download the trial of NIS from the internet and wack your key in. Problem solved :)

    OP.
Before doing your Windows 7 upgrade, log on to your Norton Account.
From their you can check if you have the latest Version which is NIS 2010.
You can then download the new version (assuming you don't already have it), and pop it on a memory stick.
Don't forget to make a note of your product key.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • Nortons rocks! the new version are far far better than they used to be and performance really good!

    Norton 2010 is really good!

Stay away from the freebies or McAfee, they are average at best!

    Can you elaborate on that?

  • I don't want to get into an argument on who is the biggest and best - that was not my question!

I managed to download it direct from their website (so it is legal and above board) I used my product key which was for 2009 into 2010 version and it worked fine - all up and running on W7 64bit version.

    Thanks!
