37" Full HD LCD TV with Freesat, excellent reviews :

Unless you are viewing it from LESS than about 6 feet you won't notice if it's full hd or not, so go with the Panasonic 37PX10.
Should be available for ~£450 at Richer Sounds or get John Lewis to price match RS and get the 5 year warranty from JL.
If you view them in a shop like Currys, Comet etc. then expect it to look 'washed out' when compared to the LCDs that will look far more vibrant. When properly set up at home under normal lighting the plasma will look far better.

Is 1080p a must for HD viewing? or is 1080i adequate?
Too much choice!!!!!
Still not sure what you mean by watching tv, not 'normal' tv
Anyways, freesat in HD completely changes things so you really could do with a 1080 tv for that. All HD content is braodcast in 1080 so there shouldnt be any scaling involved. That said, some 1080 tvs dont have a 1:1 ratio (meaning they display exactly whats fed):idea:0
