Charged £35 for free installation? Virgin Media

I joined Virgin Media through their website in late-October. I am sure it said "free installation" when I joined but yesterday I got my first bill and it showd a £35 "manned installation charge". I phoned them up and they said the installation is only free if I took phone and TV as well as broadband. I checked their website and that is the case now, but I am sure at the time the broadband only was labelled "Free installation". Is anyone else in this position?

To be honest I don't think broadband only has ever been free installation.0

I emailed them again about this and they replied saying they would waive the installation charge, so it was worth persisting. Thanks Virgin Media!0

I took out a package but they messed up and offered compensation 6 months free broadband and then 12 months at £11, then started charging me after 3 months and then wanted £18 per month! (after I had agreed the £11 contract!)
Luckily my bank refunded the dosh but Virgin now saying they will cut me off if I don't pay what they said was free!
Reported them to CISAS like oftel, and they said it was OK even if I had the offer in writing from Virgin!!!
They are a law unto themselves. PM me if you want the CEO's personal email address and to be honest he does reply till he gets bored.....:mad:0
