Virgin broadband rolling contract

I have XL tv + XL broadband for £42 a month and have had this for a year (although I have been with Virgin for 2 year, the first at a higher price). My contract is expiring in about 6 days time so I phoned up the retention centre to see if I could either keep or improve that price for the services I am receiving. The guy I spoke to said that basically even if I had to downgrade (I was only prepared to downgrade tv) I could not get an improvement in price (the only way would be to get a telephone bundled in and I was not prepared to do this).
Also he said that because it is a rolling contract I do not have to do anything and the price would remain the same. Is this true?

Yep it will just carry on no contract untill you cancel giving 30 days notice.
Unfortunatly there are very rare actual deals where you end up not having to take more services. Its bascially upsell not retentions most of the time.0 -
Sometimes when you call up to give your 30 day notice period they will make an offer. It's a risk you got to take though, sometimes the offer isn't made and you have to call them up wishing to cancel the disconnection4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
