Secret Debt

Does anyone have any debt that there OH doesn't know about?

I have two credit cards (about £6500) that my OH thinks that I paid off 4 years ago - will never never tell him either

My OH doesn't know the exact figure that I owe. He's got his own debts which he's dealing with and I haven't told him my grand total, although I plan to when I've got a few months of good payments under my belt.

He doesn't know about my chats on this board either- this is our secret.

'Fraid not. We're both completely open and honest with each other - well, so far as I know anyway :D

We've got so much debt atm anyway, it'd be daft to try and keep any of it a secret. The biggie for me, is making dh realise that WE REALLY HAVE NO MONEY, not even 2.50 to spend on chocolate upside down cake  :bangsheadagainstwall: He's beginning to realise though - I think.
Debts @ lightbulb moment (13/06/2006) - £59,842.23  All commercial debts now clear!!! :T Debts April - £20,000 to family (incl extra £10k borrowed for house deposit). DFD - Aug 2014
Proud to be dealing with my debts
    Goal of the month - £500 on groceries for family of 5 - Apr 2011 - £620! :( May - £454.85 so far.

Same here. I'm finding it really hard to let him into the kitchen to help with dinner. He doesn't seem to understand that not all the veg in the fridge needs to go into a salad for two people!

    I'm with Brassic.

My OH knows exactly how much we owe. We are very much in this together and I don't think I could do this on my own.

Heh, yup, know that one. Also - I can understand the kids forgetting to switch lights and tvs etc off, but surely grown men can remember to do it?!

  • Thanks guys

I know I will probably have to admit it one day - maybe when our total is down to about £20k

OMG - I thought that was just my other half. It kind of messes up any attempts at meal planning doesn't it? And what's worse is that he knows why I'm trying to do all this (our combined debt is in the region of £50K!!)

Yep - same in my house too. I make a big show of turning off the lights when he's left the on (the bathroom is the worst one) and then he goes "is there something wrong?"

    Grrrrrrr

It's so good to know it's not just my OH and kids that can't go to the loo in broad daylight without putting the bathroom light on !!!

My OH knows all about it, but not how much really, however, he happily looks over my shoulder when im posting and sees my sig, its not a secret, its just hes not as obsessed with the figures as I am lol

I just couldnt imagine them not knowing, I couldnt imagine keeping a secret from my OH, and I dont think there would be any beenfit to the relationship if I kept secrets, the point of my & OH is that Ive found someone I can trust. Even if I am being horrendous, he still loves me ;)

Keeping suprises is almost impossible, it wouldnt suprise me if he knows exactly what im planning for Xmas, birthdays and our anniversary. I jst cant keep anything from him - he knows if I am and either a) tickles me till I tell or b) pesters me till I tell Hes impossible :D:love:

But he also leaves lights on AND keeps the tap running when he brushes his teeth until I stroppily turn it off. Ive lost count of how many times Ive said "thats so wasteful" hes got the message now though lol
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

my OH doesn't know about my debt - he has always been really good with money and i have left it sooooo long now that i can't really admit it to him.

apart from my debt we have the mortgage [joint names] and car loan [his name] we are looking to move house but if we remortgage it will have to be in his name only [i only work weekends now and we don't count my money in as regular income iyswim]
:rotfl:five children? I must be mad........ :rotfl:
