please help with PAC question on 02

Hi guys and thanks for reading this post.

Ok so at the moment im on a 02 600 contract for 18months costing £35pm which is just about to end. I have found a similar contract on a compare website for just £10.10 effective cost after cash backs. My friend has used the site and said there really good.

When i rang on to cancel my contract (which ends this month) they said they couldn’t price match, and so we agreed to cancel my contract, and they are now going to send me my PAC code via text within 48hours.

Now the cheaper contract is 02 as well, so with this code can i transfer my number to another 02 contract or do i need to sign up with say orange on pay as you go and then transfer back, or is it ok 02 to 02, thanks guys for all your help.

if that is the case, how long (hours) do i need to stay on say orange before i can request my PAC code again, to go back to 02 :S
  • I would say you can do it straight away as soon as your number is ported. Porting usually takes about 4-ish days. If you ported your number to Orange PAYG, then once the number is changed call Orange once your number is ported I don't see why they wouldn't give you your number. You may want to think of an excuse for changing back though, maybe suggest your Orange signal isn't very strong in your area (although you can check this on the Orange website, so they may argue it :-p)

On O2 you can move a number contract to contract, you don't need to go via pay as you go anymore, there is a new contract > contract PAC process in place.
