Need Pay as you go broadband

I'm desperately in need of a pay as you go broadband connection, I've been with AOL for five years, but the last year has been disastorous particularly due to their tech support!
When I started my new broadband contract last year I was told to give one months notice when I wanted to cancel. I therefore rang last week to give notice(as moving to Talk Talk in mid July) at which point I was told that I did not need to give notice and could ring back the exact date I wanted to leave.
Today I was unable to connect, rang AOL tech support twice was put through to a call centre in India who confirmed that I still had broadband spent approx 30 mins each time trying to uninstall/install drivers etc to be told that there was a fault with my modem and go to a PCworld store to get a new cd!!
Third time tried again connected in UK and was told that my broadband had infact been terminated with 7 days notice when I rang last week and if I wanted to get Broadband again I will have to enter a new contract!!! no apologies they had automatically put me on Dialup which I am now and after using broadband for so long don't think I will be able to cope with it for a month.
I was therefore wondering if anyone knew of a pay as you go service.
Thanks in advance

I've been with Force9 for a number of years with very few problems & would recommend them highly see http://portal.f9.net.uk/residential/broadband/ - their PAYG starts at £9.99 a month. I think you could get a free 30day trial as you already have broadband
In July they'll be bringing out a competitive product to the TalkTalk Line Rental/Broadband package.0 -
i am confused... you want a pay as you go broadband service, like your thread titl suggests.... or a pay as you go dialup service as your thread hints that your getting talk talk broadband next month ??0

Sorry for any confusion, it is Broadband pay as you go I want as I'm currently on AOL Dial up (which is pay as you go) I have no other choice!!!
I'm finding difficulty in connection, plus slow service!!
Thanks again for all your help.0 -
I don't know of anyone who does a Pay as u go broadband, the nearest you'll get is a one month contract supplier. If AOL have ceased the Adsl on your line you'll have to have the line reactivated at a cost to you by whichever ISP you choose. I use Newnet which is a cheap No-frills Isp. You have to set up e-mail etc when you order and choosing Direct debit saves you 5%. Read the T&C's carefully they can be a mite daunting(don't they all!!)I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

just dont get a monthly isp that say its monthly, but charge you if you leave with 12 months... like virgin, and pipex @ £50ish0
