OK so Im a student and of course because I live in a student rented house the occupants change every year. I met the previous tenants for about 2 minutes before they left and they didnt leave any contact details. They were international, so likely to have left the country.
This morning I accidentally opened a letter addressed to the previous tenant- usually we recycle these- and it was a request for the recovery of digital TV equipment from Qnet. Its quite an insistent letter, and probably not the first they have sent. The letter says they will want payment if the equipent cannot be returned. I thought it might be a scam, but have checked other forums and the VM website and it is something VM are doing with ex customers.
we DO NOT have Virgin digital TV, but I know the previous tenants did. I have absolutely no idea what equipment Qnet want, nor where it might be.
What should I do?

Send it back marked no longer at this address. You are the new tennant but it is not your liabilty, they took out the contract they are liable. It will be up to Virgin to find them.0
