Saving tips for ex-smokers (just!)

No one has mentioned here that if you go to your local doctor's surgery and make an appointment with the nurse they will prescribe you nicotine patches, zyban, gum whatever (I got 3 weeks worth for the price of a prescription) and support you. Also, Allan Carr's book is well worth reading - unfortunately I've read it 3 times and it's worked each time, but is so easy you start smoking again 'cos you know you can give up. My hubby gave up using hypnotism the first time - worked but we were £180 poorer. Second time (new year) was severe asthma and going through Ventolin like it was going out of fashion - just scared himself into it. Good luck all you new reformed smokers - in time you won't miss it and just feel sorry for those who are a slave to the weed. PS - 3rd day without a fag and feeling OK thanks to those little patches.0

I gave up on the 9th December last year.
I used Hypnotherapy it worked.
I have not had any cravings at all.
Its quite weird actually.
For the 1st week when I would have usually had a cig suddenly something cut into my mind and said no you dont smoke anymore, very strange especially as I was not sure what to expect after the hypno.
It did cost me £200 and that was for 3 sessions.
I have saved that money already from the amount I used to smoke, and another £200 on top of that so you can see I was a very heavy smoker.
I am going to buy my myself a big pair of diamond solitaire earrings (good investment as well) in a couple of months,as a reward and also if I ever do get a craving or a set back I can just twiddle on them and remind myself how much better off I am and how healthier I am and the fact that I dont stink of smoke all the time.0 -
I just wanted to say well done and YAY to all the people who've given up - I had a few years of 'smoking 2 years, not 1 year' and have finally stopped totally - think it's about 2.5 years since hubby and I stopped and it just doesn't really occur to me any more. Keep it up - even if you crack and have one, just leave it as the one and don't see that as having failed, just as a temporary setback!!
You can all do it if you wanna, promiseWell done for coming this far!
