    After 12 months, you could cancel the HD sub and use the box like a Sky+ box. You'd still get BBC HD for free.

    If you cancelled the whole sub, you'll be left with a box giving you the free to air channels without any of the recording facilities associated with Sky+. I think you'd still get BBC HD though.
