Syncing Iphone with new computer

I want to sync my iphone with my computer as my laptop is acting up a bit
I have transferred all my apps to the computer but if I set the Iphone to sync with my computer from now on, will it sync my text messages and notes on the iphone now and back it up or clear it all?
I am aware you can only sync with one computer at a time and I want to use my computer from now on but I do not want to lose the actual notes and text messages on the iPhone now!
I am not too bothered about losing my media (ie moves and music) as I have an external HDD which makes transferring very easy from one machine to another!
I hope someone can help!
TIA

I would sync with your laptop first. This will create a backup on your lappy incase it all goes wrong. This link details where the backup is stored: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Then sync with your desktop. If it all goes wrong you can either move the backup from your laptop manually to the desktop and restore.. or just restore using your laptop.0 -
ill try that first!
