Can I find dodgy tradesman's address from phone number

Hi all
I recently had some work done by a joiner who had glowing references on My Builder. Everything seemed ok at first and In 2 weeks I too gave him a good rederence.
Soon after this the toewel rail became loose and mad a hole in the new pvc panelling and gaps started appearing between the newly made bath panel and the floor. Even worse than this, I recently discovered that the laminate floor that he'd laid in the kitchen is incomplete. He missed a section from underneath the washer. He must have known that he'd done this. He had put the washer back in place and it looked and sounded ok to me until downstairs started asking whether it was going on the blink. On closer inspection I saw that it was balanced on 2 and a half feet so every time it spins it must sound like their ceiling is falling in.
I have 2 phone numbers for him but, stupidly I know, no address. Although I know which town he works from. On Monday he said that he would come and put everything right on Wed evening but he didn't turn up. Now he is not answering his phone and has not replied to any messages that I have left him. I threatened to report him to trading standards and send photos of his work to my builder if he didn't contact me last time I rang and left a message.
I am wondering how many times that this has happened with this particular tradesman as my builder pressures you into leaving feedback quickly. I have given him 24 hours to contact me and I am wondering if there is any way that I can find an address for him and what my best course of action is.
He is the 2nd tradesman that I have used from my builder and the 1st one , a plumber, was brilliant.

I have googled his company name and phone numbers. One of them is an 0800 number but had no luck even on the telephone directory sites. I am getting more and more suspicious os him. He presently has 35 glowing references on my builder and yet cannot be traced. I am going to contact my builder today and see if they are any help but from what I have gathered they will not give out details and are just there to take money from tradesmen for leads for business.
Ps My builder is a website where you put in details of the job you want doing and they allow tradesmen to supply quotes for the work and then you choose your tradesman through the quote and feedback left by previous clients0 -
What does it say on the invoice you got from the builder for the work done?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

'My builder is a website'
says it all really, live and learn.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
Stupidly, Ididn't get an invoice. I just paid him what he quoted. He promised a receipt but that didn't materialise.
In my defence, my dad had just been taken into hospital at that time and we'd just found out that his cancer had spread. He passed away days after the work was completed so i was not thinking straight. I probably shoulkd have postponed the work but felt that I was letting the joiner down by doing this0 -
Hi Dave
The my builder website has a good reputaion if used properly (which I didn't at that time). As I said I found an excellent plumber who I woukd definitely use again from that site. It's supposed to run by recommendations from other clients but of course this could be abused0 -
Is there no way you can contact the organisers of the website to tell them you're having problems, or maybe the trading standards in the town the builder lives.
As a last resort go to the library and read through the electoral roll looking for his name.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Google the telephone numbers [and the names]...you'd be surprised what you can find!!0

You could post the name, telephone number and town of the builder on here, and see if anyone can find an address?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thanks everyone
I've contacted my builder for his details, also to remove my feedback. I'm wary of posting his details on here in case it is against some sort of regulation, especially as I am criticising his work and his attitude to it0 -
Ok. My builder is unwilling to give me his address because of data protection laws
As pinkshoes suggests I am asking anyone who reads this and has heard of this company to advise me of their address. When I say company, it is apparently a on eman band whose name is Andy
