Just another question please - perhaps harvey could help - would your log book show that it was a Motability car and would that effect future sales price?

The car will be rigistered to either the Motabily office in Southark, London or Bristol. Wouldnt really effect future sales price as most people just thing its a low mileage, well looked after car...

However most manufacturers have a motab scheme and pretty much anything and everything is available on it. I saw Mercedes, Saab, and Audi all represented when I went. Dont know how many they sell but the selection will make you chuckle.

I suspect not many given the upfront payments on some of them:)
Having said that I can imagine some fairly well paid disabled people might take say a BMW on the scheme and pay the extra rather than lease the same car normally, and probably get hit for extra high insurance.
I looked a while back after one of the common, ill informed comments on another forum* after someone had heard you could get a "free" BMW by faking a bad back:p (IIRC the upfront payment on some of the cars would buy you a fairly good "lesser" brand car).

It's basically the same as police cars when it comes to the models/costs, if they are expected to have a high resale value at the end of the contract the cost of leasing it may not be huge, especially with a larger upfront fee.

I suspect at least part of the reason you get the likes of BMW and SAAB offering high end cars on the scheme, is that it makes good PR, and probably doesn't cost them much to do (I doubt many such cars are taken on under the scheme)

*The sort that states that all mobility cars should be identical, below poverty spec with just room for the driver and possibly a passenger (I think the description was of a Trevant to be honest).
