  • BEWARE of YESS LOANS!! I was almost scammed yesterday 03/03/2010, I applied over the internet to this company and they contacted me back by telephone saying that I had been accepted in principal for a loan and she needed to take some more details including bank details so that she could process the loan, I gave all the details including bank then she said that everything was ok and that I could have the £5000 loan and gave me the details of the repayments then she said that she needed a set up fee of £69.50 so I said that I would think about it overnight before going ahead she didn't seem very happy and asked why was I going to think about it, I replied just to check through my finances and make sure that I can afford the repayments, I was then told to hold the line and was put onto another person who took my details and told me that reguler lenders could not help me but he could get someone to call me back with a loan company that could help, I was confused as YES LOANS said everything was fine and the way in which she said this sounded like everything was fine and the loan was passed, but once I said that I was going to think about it and that I didn't want to pay the fee of £69.50 just yet she passed me on to someone else. I GOOGLED JML LOANS WHO THEY PASSED ME ONTO AND THEY SOUND VERY DODGY, BEWARE.

i went with yes loans and paid a fee of £69.50, in september 2009,they also put me on to a very pushy member of staff regarding beneficial claims to which i paid £240 to which i didnt really have hense why i was wanting a loan in the first place. come december i had still not recieved the loan i applied for from Yes loans so i wrote to them asking for my money back, i then recieved a reply stating they were looking into my case, i then wrote to them again and again untill in february this year they refunded my money minus £5.00 admin fee. last week i called benificial claims as i hadnt heared from them and they told me that they were sorry they could not get my other loan written off but thay were now looking and claiming back all the ppi that i had paid, which was what i thought they were doing in the first place. i am now going to ring them and demand my money back as in all of this process with them i have had no letters from them, and was only given information when i rang them. funny thing is i have just claimed back ppi on another loan that i had, done it all by myself at no cot and recieved nearly £800 back, so in hindsiht i think ive been very silly to use beneficial claims to, but i will now put that down to their very pushy rep. i will keep you all informed of my progress.

Hi I applied to yes loans on 11 April was told I had been accepted and the money would be in my account by the weekend, they also said if I paid the admin fee there and then that would hurry the cash up. I required 4000 for a car. So I paid the money, which I had to scrap together I might add, the young sounding girl on the phone actually discussed terms and payments and interest rates with me. I have worked in the debt industry for 30 years. I agreed 18 months paying £250 a month back to save on interest. Weekend came no money, monday no money tried ringing them that day was in a queue had to go to work so left it.
Spent all day Tuesday making phone calls, phoned the customer care no waited 45 minues before it was answered spoke to a male gave him my ref no, he said he would look it up, putting me on hold, I then realised I was back in the queue when I heard the auto answer telling me I was position 31.
After trying another number to no avail, I phoned the application number for it to be answered on the 2nd ring, spoke to a very young sounding female explained what my problem was - she put the phone down on me.
I then received a call from another loan brokers I mentioned to them about YesLoans she said 'OH NO NOT ANOTHER ONE WE HEAR THIS ALL THE TIME YOU SHOULD NEVER PAY AN UPFRONT FEE, ALL THIS COMPANY HAS DONE IS TAKE YOUR MONEY AND PASS YOU TO US' She took information from me and said that 4 companies were flagging up that could possibly assist me, this was not guaranteed and that they would all be in touch with me over the next 4-5 working days.
I then went online and did some serious digging found a forum site where there are 100's of postings going back quite a few years regarding yes loans, there is also a link to a BBC program where the Director of this company was banned from being a director for 10 years for serious misconduct.
I have contacted to OFT made an official complaint to the financial Ombudsman, contacted the CCA to get their licence revoked.
I must add that I am an ex police officer and have worked in the finance industry for 30 years.
I have also made a statement for the police and this is being investigated bythe Fraud Squad, and I have also sent details into Watchdog.
This man has to be stopped he is making a lot of money doing this and probably living a very rich lifestyle.
  • yes i must agree yes loans aint all they cracked up to be i have had a bad experience with them too. i had a call from them too and they asked for my details for a check i asked why cant you do that via the electrol roll? they said we need bank details to do our checks this way which i thought was odd but i gave my details as a fool too, then i got passed to someone else who needed a few more details to help the loan process when i asked for a contact number so if i had any problems i could contact them, the woman got all defensive and asked ''WHY DO YOU NEED THAT?'' so i told her if i needed to contact them so she said ok one minute, next thing i know im speaking to benifical claims with a really pushy pri*k who kept on repeating himself and asked for £245 i said i cant afford it and he said £245 for £2400 back for ppi is nothing the guy wouldnt listen so i hung up next thing i know he rung me back so i said look im not interested at the momment and he started being aggresive and abit more pushy thats not what i call customer service at all (i should know i work in sales and customer service over the phone) so once i told him to get lost he put the phone down. like alot of people on here after the call i did research and glad i did because this company should be shut down and i also have reported these to watchdog and the police for their fraudulant ways (i didnt pay a thing to them btw) i hope they get whats coming to them.:mad::mad::mad::mad::money::money::money:
