hi am doing a malwarebytes scan in safe mode as i type i will post the logs once it has finished
i have recovery cd's which i had to do myself with the pre installed program on the computer, the computer is an acer aspire x1700I luv freebies0 -
it is doing a full scan at the moment and up to now has found 1 infection, I will get back to you as soon as it has finished with the logs, thanks for the help, it is very much appreciated.I luv freebies0

best go get the coffe on, full scan with MBAM could easily take well over an hour. Did you remember to UPDATE the definitions before starting the scan ?? If not, stop it and update before scanning again

Do not try combofix.exe or mess around with it as it can trash your machine if you are not carefull.(mikey.caretaker). I think you might have a virus variant called "virut".0 -
