Please help

Hello,
In september I stupidly opened a contract with Vodafone in my name for a relative. I say stupidly because I did not realise that there would be major issues with the contract and I would later be billed for huge amounts of money that neither I or my cousin would be able to pay.
I opened the contract with my cousin in the store with my bank details and then left the store with a new phone (for her) that she activated and then began to use, The agreement between her and myself was that she would pay me £25 per month until we were able to transfer the contract into her name 3 months later.
Unfortunately there have been problems ever since, at first there seemed to be confusion over the minutes and text messages. The contract I signed for was £25 for 100 mins and 500 texts and were told to call and this would be changed to 600 mins and unlimited texts. She did this but there seemed to be a problem and my second bill was for £161. I queried this with her and she called vodafone and made numerous calls to rectify the problem.
Either way I have been sick with worry and out of my mind as the next month I received a bill for £761. I just want to transfer it over to her as I can not take the worry and upset of this being in my name and I have never had anything to do with the calls or touched the phone. The thing is Vodafone are saying I cannot transfer the contract unless we clear the bill. I cannot do this and neither can she (single mum no money).
I am devistated, if anyone can give me any advice I would appreciate it so much.
If I took this to court and asked for it all to be put in her name do you think they would do it? she could then sort the issues of the bill with them. She would say in front of a judge that she has always had the phone.
She already owes me £450 I cant afford to pay this huge phone bill as well.
I only wanted to help her and it has backfired on me. I am so depressed I am going to the doctor I just cant afford to take on her bill but technically it is in my name.
thank you from Emma

Have you taken the phone off her or is she still using it and racking up even more debt for you? A £761 bill is mind boggling. She's either using the internet all day or ringing premium rate numbers. You MUST get the phone back asap. If the contract is all in your name, it should be you that Vodafone deal with, not your cousin.

Can you explain how the bill is £761 now ?

Have you get the issue with the minutes and text's sorted out ?
