is it too expensive?

They have marked up the parts a little but not too bad although I would not have wanted to pay for 2 springs at that price, to be expected I guess.
At least the cost came in below the estimate how often does that happen and if this was a pre mot inspection then that was included, I hope you were not charged twice for the mot, mine cost £49 last week, car failed, had to take the car away to replace rear shoes and re-tested for free.
Overall I would be ok with that price for a year's mot.0 -
Looks okay to me (brake pipe looks a little dear)
Susprised they didn't try to convince you to change both coil springs though so thats a bonus.
Interesting to see you can buy somethings for £3, I thought they were more than that!
nope brake pipeing is on the mark if copper pipeing and if the calipper pipe was cheap. brake hose isnt ordered to measure and come in certain measurement packs and 10.00 is about the right price.0 -
I agree the brake pipe replacing seems a bit expensive but we dont know how much was replaced and if it was difficult to get to, some can be tucked away.
You're meant to replace coil springs in pairs really but it's fine if you're looking to save money.
The "something for £3.00" made me chuckle as well!
i would replace both springs if they were the factory fitted ones and not been replaced and one was worn to fail mot as they were fitted the same time can be worn equally. i agree with blued. but not common practace to do so nor a requirement, just for a peice of mind knowing theyre both done. and economical knowing the suspensions are of equal temperment and ride hight coupled with tyre pressure's etc to save a bit of fuel to save a bit of co2;)0 -
