Hi on the 30th of september i pre-ordered two xbox 360's modern warfare 2 packages from gamestation which arrived on good time release date 10/11/09 no probs there.
anyway i changed my mind when they arrived and sent them back on the 24th of november under the dsr's still sealed never opened them
this is where i am starting to get worried,
i took them to my local post office using gamestations FREE returns address. and the lady behind the counter gave me 2 cop with no tracking number on them! these xboxs cost £500 for two and have since gone in the post un-tracked.
my question is if they "do" happen to go missing in royal mails hands who is to blame? am i right in thinking its gamestation because i used there FREE returns address? or me?
i could be worrying over nothing but its been 9 days now since posting and gamestation said this morning they dont have them yet

thanks to anyone who reads this and can put my mind to rest!

There maybe a freepost returns address but you're responsible for making sure the items are adequately insured against loss. Having said that Gamestation may have that included in their free postage so I wouldn't worry about it that much. Did you get proof of postage?

so you walked away from the post office with no tracking number, knowing you were sending 2 boxes worth up to 500 quid?
if you have proof of postage at least gamestation know you sent them, but id be crapping myself

According to Gamestation's T&Cs all they require is Proof of Postage so presumably the postage would include enough insurance to cover a loss or they would be the ones to take responsibility for chasing Royal Mail for compensation. If the OP hasn't at least got this then I'm afraid they're stuffed.
  • Thanks for your replys, my original plan was to send them back with dhl with the extra insurance (which i wish i went with), then i seen gamestations free return address and thought i would get a tracking number.
yes i got two slips from the post office one for each parcel which got gamestations address & post stamp, etc just no tracking number:rolleyes:
i was kinda holding on to the hope that since gamestation paid for the returns they would be held liable for any loss. I know i am on ebay when i sale a item its my job to make sure the buyer gets it if they dont i have no choice but to refund.
Maybe i am wrong! sounds like i am....
    thanks

  • HI i know how much they r worth (not the paper they r printed on)
i just wants to know who is liable, i think it should be gamestation after all they paid the postage.
And going by royal snail in the past if the item dont get there in 10 days chances r the item will never get there.
i will give them another couple of days and ring them again falling that i will just got to halifax and see if i have any rights under visa debit card rules.
    cheers
