Travel Insurance - Policy not shown the FULL Name

Dear All,

My husband and I bought the annual travel insurance. The travel insurance company sent us the policy. I saw the policy name as below:

Person insured :
MR. A (first name) + surname + Date of birth
MRS. B (first name) + surname + Date of birth

I got confused that, Will it have any problems that the insurance company not show the full name at the travel insurance policy ?

If your concerned, phone them, note the time, date and person who you speak to so you have something to refer to if they say its all ok.

They just said that the full name shown in THEIR computer system.

But, I am not confidence that it is not clearly on the policy.

Does anyone have same experience (travel policy documents not in FULL name) ?

I have never ever seen this before on any policy documentation.
    Sounds very odd to me.
I think you are right to be concerned.

If they are comfortable that everything is in order and you have a record of when they said that to you you have nothing to be concerned about. Insurers must record all calls and so in the case of a dispute refer them back to their own recording.

Unfortunately, we did not mark down the details conversation of our call.

And my husband said that it should be fine without full name in policy.

BUT, I have no confidence since I came to UK..... Please understand me.

What is your travel insurance policy shown, full name or just a Capital letter of name ?

Have several with my bank accounts, credit cards etc and some have my name, some simply say those named on the associated account, others have just surname etc..... it varies a lot.

Certainly just having your initial rather than first name wouldnt be a concern of mine but again, if in fear, call up and note the time/ date of call and ideally the name or ID of the person you speak to.

You really are worrying over nothing. If they have your correct initials, correct surname and correct dates of birth, then I see no problem.

Don't forget if you needed to claim under the Travel Insurance you will be contacting this Insurance company and/or their travel assistance company. When you travel it is always good practice to take your Insurance documents with you.

I have one Bank card that has my title, first initial, second initial and surname. On another card it shows my title, first name and surname. Both cards are equally valid.

My instinct is that this has nothing to do with the Travel Insurance. It is just that you have not yet settled in the UK and are abit nervous of your dealings here. I would be in exactly the same situation if I moved to another country. My brother has lived in Spain for nearly 10 years now but still goes on about how much easier it was to do business in England. ( He does by the way speak and write in Spanish. The locals thinks he is Spanish)
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

When I came to the UK and called to the company to set up my stuff. When I asked some questions on some company, they had different answers. I really don't know which one is telling truth until I received the documents details.

That's why I want to see the correct information on my travel insurance policy.

What are you concerned about as long as the names they give are the actual (correct initial with mr/mrs and correct date of birth with each) you are ok, as if they "try to use it as an excuse" to get out of paying - you have proof of purchase of the policy? Credit card statement, cheque payment, etc - you'd only have any problems if you paid cash and did not get a receipt.
