I have an issue with a Hong Kong trader through E-bay. The points below detail the story so far:
- Quantity 2 DS Lites did not arrive as expected.
- As these were not delivered I raised a query with E-bay and Paypal resolution centre.
- Refund was given to close query.
- DS Lite consoles were delivered two weeks after refund was received from Paypal.
- I now have no requirement for these items as I purchased replacements from alternative source.
- After numerous E-mails the supplier has not confirmed that they will pick up by courier or send adequate postage.
Many thanks

maybe they never arrived. wink wink.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
I have not tried to contact Ebay or Paypal yet as I find both difficult to direct my query to the correct dept. I had hoped for help from this site first. I also had to sign for the package on delivery.
I am sure there must be an official stance to this issue? Any ideas?0 -
email the seller, tell them you have received them but now don't need them, and ask how you should go about sending them back.
How much time did you give for them to be delivered before putting in for a refund?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I believe you are legally required to assist the seller in getting the goods back - i.e. let them know you have them and offer to return them within a reasonable amount of time.
I'm pretty sure that you have no obligation to be out of pocket for postage costs or to repeatedly contact the seller if they are ignoring you.
I would contact the seller asking for return postage so you can send them back, and say that you will dispose of the goods after a certain date (in a few months' time) if you don't hear anything. Leave it to them to get in touch, then sell 'em if you don't get a reply!0 -
If they are based in Hong Kong though, then your position could well be very different as they could fall outside of UK consumer laws (unless they actually have a UK presence).
As it stands, you have received goods for which you have not paid (as a refund was received). You may find yourself having to foot the cost of returning the items.0
