As you imply, time will tell.

I would be very surprised if 40 y/o state employees end up with the pension they are entitled to contractually.

Maybe not but how different? will be the question.

Good question that I don't think anyone has the answer to at the moment.
The government has the ability to change laws as it sees fit. They've already robbed the private sector's pensions in a massive tax grab and I see no reason why they won't do something similar with the public sectors.
It's simple. Brown/whoever gets in nexts hand will be forced by the financial markets. If we come close to losing our AAA debt rating, the cuts will become massive across the board.
Brown is trying to squeeze through his last few months without facing up to this. At the end of the day we will ALL be worse off because of it.
It'll be left to the "nasty" government that gets in next.
  • No idea what cbcsa is - new term to me.

Too many "c"s. I meant CBJSA. Just when I was finally working out what most of the abbreviations were on the benefits board, I still get it wrong.:o
I saw one the other day, bloke with £15k income, benefits topped him up to equivalent of earning £45k - and he was wanting to get a mortgage that took benefits into account. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2040731

Hmmm, I thought the benefits for the children were given so they could be spent on the children, not their parents!

I was shocked to read on the benefits board that a couple with a child/children only has to have one parent work for 16 hours per week to claim working tax credits. Whatever happened to parents only having children they can afford or (perish the thought) working to keep their own children?
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and say... what about the kids women have yet against the mens will? yet obviously slipped up on using protection, or stupid enough to believe a girl was on the pill :confused:lol

Slipped up!! They should have slipped one on, even if they don't like using them. Cuts down on STDs too.

Nah, it's the place they've been promised decent pensions without funding being in place to pay them.

Perhaps the unions in the public sector are strong but not that bright.

well since RM have been raised, who would you blame for the company(government) taking a 13 year pension holiday while the workers still paid in?
