  • BTW - the link to the testing site

    http://www.goodguide.com

There are MANY toys scoring 3 or 4 which have not been recalled - they have been deemed safe by the main testers.

Who released theis list ? Ofcourse the manufacturer is going to produce lots of 'spin'
The consumer group still maintain they are not safe ,what do they have to gain ?
The manufacturers have everything to lose :)
Im sure of I had spent hours on end chasing down these over priced clockwork mice then I would be looking for reasons to justify their safety but to anyone not obsessed ,it its possible to take a step back and think and see what comes of the finding first :)
Actually if you do your research correctly, you will find that the good guide have admitted that the testing they did is flawed. But by you live up to your screen name.

I'm coming off this thread now.

I wish you all the best with your hamster hunt. But I can't watch people moan all over it and bring up things about people dying when they probably haven't.

    Darn attenion seeking....

    I agree

I thought this thread was creadted for like minded parents desperately hunting for specific items all in the aim of seeing their kids faces light up on CHristmas Morning - yes there has been a Safety Scare but that has now been sorted out as far as I am aware. I think this all comes down to personal preferance - If you are happy that the items are safe for your children to play with ( as I do) - the I wish you and your loved ones a very happy Christmas Morning. If you feel that these reports are too worrying and you feel that there is too many dangers then either return the products to where you bought them and let it be over with. In the end of the day if you all look back at the way children were brought up 30 years ago - yes we were unaware of some of the dangers of lead paint / asbestos - but children were happy, healthy and care-free - which is what we all want for them in the end is it not??

Yes we want to protect our kids - but panicking everytime a botched report is issued is ust silly. Unless there is a product recall I dont think we have anything to worry about.
  • The Good Guide test on all sorts that we don't think about - they are testing for the environmental impact and all sorts.

    5.2 isn't a bad score when I can't find any toys scored higher than a 7!

I will stand corrected if this is recalled, but I can't see it myself.

Oh thats ok then they're only a little bit toxic ,lol (goes running out to buy her kids some )
I predict a mass recall in the new year but the kids will probably be bored of them by then anyway ;)

Very naive attitude. Have you researched all products you expose your child to?! Have they ever used a bottle? Been in a fire retardant cot? Etc etc. Research these things before making uneducated snide remarks.
