  • Thanks for the replies about the news article. It was my feeling that the research is an over reaction to something which is currently THE BIG THING!

I'm of the age before all this rigorous testing took place and my generation seem ok!
Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.

I remeber someone saying once that the human race should have died out many many years ago.

I mean we used to paint childrens cots with paint that contained toxic levels of iron and there still alive.

We never used to clean so much, we used to eat whatever was put in front of us regardless of the date on the label etc etc.

Theres a different story everyday about whats good for you then the next day the same thing is bad for you and vice versa.

Many countries have banned the sale of Red bull, but we still sell it and ive yet to hear of 1 case were it has badly affected someone, (i will stand corrected if someone finds different).

I think you just have to take these things with a pinch of salt. There is far too much scaremongering going on these days.

Average price for funhouse on Ebay is £28-32

I've just watched one start at £25 and last minute bid up to £31 :o

Some Buy It Nows are shocking - £45?:eek:

That's easy, for me - "buy it not at all" rather than "buy it now" (-:

There are too many conflicting stories reagrding this chemical for me to take it seriously.

Some say it doesnt cause cancer some say it does but you would have to around such high quantities of it for any of this to potentially happen.

Antimony can have beneficial effects when used for medical reasons. It has been used as a medicine to treat people infected with parasites.

But think back to how those federal guidelines are set. If the new federal limit is 60 ppm (particles per million) and the Zhou Zhou Pet is at 120 ppm (just to make the math simple) then the Zhou Zhou pet has 2% of the dangerous limit rather than just 1%. Which isn't something we might want to worry about very much.

Worth noting that one of the major uses of antimony is as a fire retardant: we've not seen mass outbreaks of cancer, heart or lung disease from this, have we? Especially when the government insists that crib mattresses for babies use antimony as a fire retardant.

Very pure antimony is used to make certain types of semiconductor devices, such as diodes and infrared detectors. Antimony is alloyed with lead to increase lead's durability. Antimony alloys are also used in batteries, low friction metals, type metal and cable sheathing, among other products. Antimony compounds are used to make flame-proofing materials, paints, ceramic enamels, glass and pottery. The ancient Egyptians used antimony, in the form of stibnite, for black eye make-up.

TRU Kirkcaldy had all 4 hamsters, beds & carriers yesterday afternoon. I had dd (5) with me as we were in to spend her birthday money, so couldn't add to her xmas. She picked num nums (luckily the one we don't have) and a blue bed and blanket. A staff member came up to remind us it was 1 hamster and only 1 bed or carrier per customer. DD hasn't put num nums down since she got him - so money well spent.

I'm minus a chunk now, as I sold it at rrp to a colleague of mine, along with my spare funhouse - also had a spare pipsqueak I sold to her, as I got 2 pips when I reserved 2 at argos last week.

Went to pick up an order from Tesco today for the two different hamsters. There was only one in the box, no email from Tesco's or phone call to state there would only be one. The girl at the counter felt the box was too light and checked. She phoned direct and was told the other was on its way!!!!!!! However when I went home and phoned direct they stated that I would not get the other one and there will be no more stock. I stated that if the girl had not noticed and I checked the sealed box when I got home how could I have proved that there was only one in the box.

Very poor treatment, direct blamed the warehouse I don't care they phoned and emailed confirmation of two hamsters.
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

It's not what you expect from Tesco. A lot of people were reporting this on Thurs and Fri. I think they got instant refunds but i could be wrong. I know many said they had there boxes checked on the spot as Tesco knew there had been problems the packing/warehouse.

    Sorry i can't help more.
    I'm Ever hopeful!

Evening everyone, not very well today so have not been out hunting. I think it is a good time to reflect on what we know. Lets start with the big guns Character still hoping for a delivery on the 18th, have sent them an email to find out if they have anymore upto date news, will expect an email tomorrow some time. Unless livdaz heres something before myself. Tesco have been told no more stock until after Christmas, (others have been told the same). Asda after sending them several emails i finally got a reply, All out of stock they do not know when they will be getting any stock. TRU waiting to hear from them direct, but was told at my local TRU, they thought it was very unlikely that anymore would come in before Xmas, (other people at their branches have all been told the same). Argos have said they only have hamsters left. Hooray out of stock now. Toymaster out of stock. This is not gospel, mainly because it is very hard to get a straight answer, and no two people give you the same answer. The lady at my local Tesco direct counter said she had a list as long as her arm for the Funhouses. I think i am going to give up the hunt now. But this is a mission of mine now, so i am going to carry on emailing and finding out as much as i possibly can. I will keep posting as soon as receive any information. Merry Christmas everyone.
