Go go pets hamsters & accessories stock updates & discussion Part 2

I like many people have been trying to get Go Go Hamsters as a christmas present for my son. Imagine my joy when on friday 27/11/09 my order finally went through, and i got a confirmation email. Previously the order had been rejected at the last minute, but the money was essentially locked out of my bank account. Delivery was expected on Wednesday the 2nd December. During this time several other places had the items in stock. Wednesday came and went, I waited in all day during their ridiculous time slot 8am - 9pm, 13 hours, just to make sure it wasnt missed. Nothing. When I emailed ToysRUs to enquire, they immediately issued a refund saying they had no stock. Apart from feeling really deflated as this now give's very little time to find these hamsters before christmas, I thought it was a bit odd to issue a refund so quickly. Almost as if they knew i would never get my order. I have visited a forum on MoneySavingExpert.com and found that there are quite a few people who ordered on this friday who's orders have not arrived. I have contacted TRU several times, keeping copies of the emails asking them to either cover the cost of replacing the items from ebay etc. where these items are going at very high prices which i cannot afford to pay, or make sure that i receive them from the next batch of stock they receive. My response was another template based email which stated the same thing "we have no stock". This was thursday afternoon. Imagine my horror when Friday morning the toysrus website showed the very same items i had order in stock, not once but on two seperate occasions once at 9.49 and again at 10.23.
I have spent so much time trying to get these for christmas. that unless TRU have a change of heart my son wont be getting any.

Have you written to the MD of TRU UK as well. I've worked in several complaints deptartments and the best way to get a positive response and larger refund is to send it to the MD. they may not deal with it personally but it will be dealt with at a higher level and faster than the ordinary complaints department.I'm Ever hopeful!:j:j:j:j0 -

Completely agree, but when they seem to be the only one's getting these hamsters in a constant supply, we have no choice. much prefer to use amazon or play, neither have ever let me down. But because of the size and buying power of TRU they only get dribbles of stock.0 -

My sister in law just emailed me her response from TRU regarding her missing order.
Dear Miss XXXXXXX,
Thank you for your recent e-mail.
Please accept our apologies for the difficulties you report with your recent order. Having investigated, I can confirm that your order has been despatched from our warehouse.
Though we aim for the highest standards in our shipping operations, we do have to accept that on occasion accidental loss can occur during transit. This would appear to be the case in this instance.
Our standard policy would be to issue you with a refund in this instance, however, we do accept that during busy postal times, Royal Mail can be delayed slightly with their deliveries and as we are unable to track parcels with Royal Mail would ask that you allow a little extra time for the delivery to arrive.
Please contact us if you have not received your order by the 4/12/09 and we will investigate further.
Once again, we apologise for any disappointment the delay may have caused you. Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

I would just like some honesty and some sort of customer relations from these big companies. It was only two days ago i received an email from tru, that they had ordered from there suppliers, but so far they have been unable to fulfil the orders. They must of known then that this stock was coming in. It would take a day to go through there wharehouse, before it was put online. I have found out this, this Xmas you can only get a straight answer from small independant shops. By the way did anyone actually order the skateboard and surfboard this morning, they seem to have gone in a flash.0
