There are a few slight differences in the specs of these 2 similar laptops but one is £50 dearer than the other, is it worth paying the £50 extra for these differences?

If the sonys above are not classed as good laptops are there any that anyone would recommend as good ones as I'm now starting again, 17 inch preferred but 15.5 ok. I dont want to be too long in ordering now as its getting so near christmas. I'm just completely confused as what to go for now

LadyK. The Sony's you mention above ARE good laptops. Excellent in fact. However, they are not the best VALUE laptops. You are paying a premium for the looks, badge and kudos. You would still be getting a great laptop.
Much like buying a BMW over say a Lexus....
This being a moneysaving site - you are naturally going to have people cringeing at the thought of paying that premium as it goes against the grain here!
If aesthetics are very important - then fine. Just make sure that you understand the premium you have paid and make sure that you run the make and model through a pricechecker before you buy to make sure you get it as cheap as possible.0 -

Depends on whether she is like to play games on the laptop or not.0 -
Thankyou happywarmgun, I have thought and re-thought all of it, I've searched the internet for alternatives since beginning this thread and have come back to the sonys. This time I am prepared to pay the extra mainly for the keyboard layout which seems to be much nicer and more comfortable to use than others and as my daughter has managed with such a massive heavy laptop for years that was given to her when hers was stolen after owning it just a matter of months, this time paying extra for the prettiness on top will be worth it to me to give as a gift. I also thought about the presentation if she needs it in meetings which is why I changed from the white to the silver, it will look smarter but feminine at the same time
Basically I just need advise now on if its worth paying the extra £50 for the differences I have listed in my post above if anyone can tell me please?Thanx

Unless she works in design and uses programs like AutoCAD, she won't need it, but if you are happy spending the extra, do so. It won't hurt to have the extra capability.0
