Hi
Hope someone can help
I am trying to migrate from Virgin Media, for a number of reasons (mainly cost, about £60 per month and bad service). I am no longer happy to pay £25 for 10 Mbps.
What I need is a new phone line, a phone package and BB (with at least 80 GB allowance)
Having read Martin’s article, I’ve researched most of the providers but still confused as to which provider to select.
1.Talk Talk
a.Their customer service seems to be very confused especially when ordering a new phone line
b.Latest development Customer service says that new customers cannot be added to the exchange ! They are very confused !
c.None of the voucher codes would work with a new line + BB
2.BT just for the phone line and then go with O2
3.Or any other ISP ? I cannot user SKY because I am not allowed to install a dish in the flat !
Would be most grateful for any advice.

What LLU options are available on your exchange? www.samknows.com, then exchange search.
First of all, you neeed a BT line for any other ISP than Virgin Media. BT are currently offering free connection, but you will have to take out an 18m contract for line rental to get this. Otherwise it's £122.50.
If TT are full for new LLU connections on your exchange. then no point in going with them, as you will just be on a more expensive BT Wholesale service.
O2 is an excellent unlimited choice if you can get it LLU-do not go for the non-LU Access service.
If no LLU available, how about the Plusnet Premium package, which is 80GB?

 If the ISP also provides Line Rental etc they can normally arrange for the connection of a new line and you would pay them the connection fee etc.

By 'BT line' I meant a line on the BT network (as opposed to a cable line from Virgin). This doesn't mean the OP has to pay line rental to BT, or have the line connected by BT.
But since the price of line rental hardly varies from £11.25, the BT free connection offer is a good deal as long as you can commit for 18 months.
