ANY GOOD TEXT DEALS FOR ORANGE PAYG???

Hi Everyone,

I'm an orange payg customer and my text saver package i purcheased last year for £15 which offered me 5 texts per day FREE has just run out.....This thing saved me a fortune because i usually send around 6 texts on average a day..cheaper than calling.

Does anyone know of any similar deals going around for orange payg customers. I think they do a deal for students but i'm not a student..:(

In conclusion i would really appreciate all your help please.

Hi there. First post, but I hope it’s a good one!

Orange currently offer EXTRA packages for PAYG users. These are

    Text messages Bundles:
    50 for £4 (8p each)
    150 for £8 (5.3p each)
    400 for £12 (3p each)

    talk time
    100 minutes for £20 (20p per minute)
    50 minutes for £12 (24p per minute)

I think the text bundles are great value considering its normally 12p per text. The only thing about these is that you must use your package within 30 days. You can buy up to 9 extra packages a month. I found these for a friend, and it doesn’t appear that many people know about it.

To buy one of these you have to top-up as normal, and then you can purchase a package by dialling 450. Listen to all the options, its one of the later ones, and it is all an automated service.

Go to http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/pay_as_you_go_extras for more info.

The student deal for PAYG Orange isn’t that great as the free txts only lasts for the first 3 months. However the contract version is brilliant as its for 5 years (1000 free texts/month + 5p to landlines after your mins have finished). Might be worth pointing out here that Orange only ask for an NUS number and do not ask for any evidence of your course and Uni. So if you know someone who goes to a University, they should be able to get you an NUS card from their union with out any problems! ;)

And one last thing if you haven’t done it already. You can get 30 free txts from orange by sending the word ‘text’ to 1127. It can take up to a week to activate this.

    Hope that helps! :)
  • jazelwood,
get your phone unlocked, get one of the O2 300 free text sims for £10/month and get your PAC number to port your old phone number across. That would be my recommendation for a great text deal for Orange customers ;);D
...and then the window licker said to me...
  • check out this thread.  you get unlimited 3p texts for 6 months but the offer ends at end of this month. it works out 300 texts for £9 but you are not restricted to using them in a month or anything.

  • working on something will let you all know soon if it works
  • You could get another text saver. They're £19.99 now, but you do get £5 calltime in with that.

    Click link to get one

That is, unless anyone knows where you can get it cheaper? Amazon used to do it for £12.99, no more though.

Yes, they are still selling on e-bay, ae you sure you can still use them? I bought a spare one last year and had to activate it sometimes in October as there was a date to register. Mine had still 6 months to go and was due to expire in Feb, and as it is when I register the new one, I lost some months.

Yes they can still be registered ....at the moment! True they are not supposed to be but orange obviously fear backlash from people who haven't got round to registering them yet! I sold a spare one in December and buyer was v. happy - worked fine!

What I do is look at the feedback and see if someone has bought an orange text saver/out here recently and rated it positively. With the out here someone bought one just a week ago so they were still working then.
Orange are going to tell you not working even if they are!
