  • Your C pass can be used by you and a companion for free across Scotland so next time just say to the driver its a C pass and this is your companion.

Sorry a C pass in Scotland is for one person only. It will have a C+1 (I think or just C+) if you are allowed a companion free of charge.

Absolutely right, sorry about that. It was the school crossing guy that was telling me he has one or in fact his wife I think. All this talk of C standing for companion made me think that after this conversation when in fact it stands for Concession and you need to apply for a C+1 as per this website.

This is for Scotland though so anyone in England would be best to check their own area.

In Scotland C is for concession and it's there to differentiate between free transport for disabled/pensioners and subsidised transport for people aged 16-18 as the cards have the same design and young disabled peoples cards also have the young scot label on them. C+1 is concession plus one other person.
