So the dry statistics kind of agree with what we feel (and we are in the placement biz since 84). But than again we should put a cheery face and maybe get the blinders to when we go down to the pub.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

Average weekly pay was £451 last November, an increase of 0.7% on a year earlier.
Job Seekers Weekly Allowance = £64.50!!Oh what's the bloody point...?0 -
So... when a recession ends, unemployment continues to rise, right?
So... now unemployment has fallen for the first time, does this mean we are now back in recession ??
just a thoughtPlease take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

I don't want to look like a gloomster but I do think the figures are misleading.
Apparently once you have been on Jobseekers for 8 months you are moved to something else called A4E where you have to go on a training course in order to keep getting your benefits. During this time you do not count as unemployed even though you clearly are.
So it isn't just people on disablity who are "economically inactive" - it's anyone who went on jobseekers 8 months ago and hasn't found a job yet too.
I know massaging unemployment figures is nothing new before anyone points this out.0 -

This fits in with the 27,000 drop in people in actual employment. Not Again0 -

are we sure that these figures aren't just extra people employed over the xmas period ?
the figures stink especially as there have been several announcements of jobs losses over the last week .
we should be given the figure of people who aren't actually contributing anything to the country in the way of taxes . if you take into account that far more kids leave school and go to uni or college now , the figure of under 25 unemployment would be much higher . then there all those on the sick ,
whilst we have such high unemployment we should stop importing overseas workers and train the people we have here to do the work0 -
else called A4EHappy chappy0
