then your vouchers only get sent in November....like yourself, I am saving for a trip abroad (hoping florida).

But then you'll get less chance to earn extra points, so most real collectors don't do this.

The good thing about quarterly mailings (and joining the Tesco Food/Healthy Living/Wine clubs) is the extra points coupons. Use as many as poss for as little outlay as poss and you can get your total much higher. Also doing other stuff like phone & ink cartridge recycling. Just earning 'normal' points value on a weekly shop isn't going to get anyone a holiday very fast.

All the tips and knowledge re Tesco points maximising are there on paid to shop.

Don't forget that most travel insurance policies won't cover you for cancellation when paid for with clubcard deals. Another way Tesco get your money, their insurance covers you.

OMG, Can someone please explain why for me? I have annual travel insurance and I've always thought that I'm covered regardless of payment method. thx.

    Sorry, for another hijack!!

Looking a holiday to Florida. Proable cost £3000. Should have about £1500 in holiday tokens, balance to pay should be about £1500. I was wondering whether it is possible to pay the remainder of the cost with Virgin Credit Card and therefore secure an additional discount given that this provides up to a 10% discount?

    Thanks
    Simon

We had a virgin holiday to US in early 2009. Paid vast majority (it was before the limit was introduced) in cc vouchers. They wouldn't give us an extra discount if we used a virgin credit card.

We were going to use our Tesco vouchers for a holiday to Menorca next September for myself, DH,son (aged 2 ) and daughter (aged 1). We would have had to use £1200 in vouchers and pay £900 in cash, even though we had more vouchers. We therefore decided to look at travel agent prices and have booked for £1100, so £200 extra in cash but we still have all our vouchers to spend elsewhere with Tesco. The Tesco price was £2100!! You don't get any discount and have to pay brochure price.

Or book your holiday via Airmiles, so you can also benefit from any free child places and discounts and use your Tesco vouchers at double value as I explained before.
