there are little pots you can buy that you half bury in the ground. They look a bit like a commode pot. You collect the poop as and when, throw it in and it breaks down in the solution provided. It's called Eco Clean Waste Disposal System and you can buy them from www.doggiesolutions.co.uk

Is there a green way of disposing of cat and dog waste? At the moment it gets put in a plastic bag, sealed, then put in the non recyclable waste bin, is there a better way?

I must admit I flush my dog's waste straight down the loo.

She is regularly wormed and the loo is just inside the back door in a utility area - I wouldn't like to carry it through the house!

Dig a hole and bury it. Eventually, it will decompose.

Providing your house isn't directly close to a river or stream then burying it is probably the best thing you can do.

We have a dog loo as well and it just can't cope with the waste, it doesn't break down quickly enough. We only have a small dog too, so goodness knows how it is supposed to cope with a larger dog or more than one dog!!

We have a thread similar to this already, I'll add your query to it so all the replies are together. Posts are listed in date order so you'll need to read from the beginning to catch up :)

I'll move this to the garden board where it will get more replies as well :)

We tried a dog loo a few years back when they came out and didnt work. We had two dog and the volume was too much. I think if you used a similar approach but buried a dustbin rather than a bucket size loo it would probably work.

I have seen the wormeries but to be honest think it would go the same way with the worms struggling to deal with the volume.

We tend to bag and bin in the dog bins and plan our walks around these.
