After much searching around, I bought my decking and support timbers from Howarth Timber,
http://www.howarth-timber.co.uk/
It was not the cheapest I could find, but was a very good balance of price and quality. They supply Arbodeck decking which can be viewed at http://www.arbordeck.co.uk/
Make sure that they quote you trade prices.0 -
rose dont get fooled into buying hard wood over soft wood
the only difference is hardwood comes from a decidous tree and soft from a coniferous tree. (excuse spelling) Balsa is classed as a hard wood.
Most building merchants will match the price of like for like decking. But you will probably get more help from the merchants than the like of B&Q as the builders merchants will get proper feed back from builders and carpenters.
Dont just look at the price as has already been mentioned look at the quality as this will define the longevity of your decking also. A good DIYer will make a good job if they have the time, A quick bodge job will fall apart within months. If needs be pay someone to do it for you and ask around for the best in the area, again the builders merchants will help you here.THE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0
