Are you not able to debate without trying belittle people? I simply asked a question regarding prices on the outskirts of Glasgow I never said I was an expert on the areas.

I responding to Hamish theres therefore no need for you to answer thank you. Especially when you have not answered the question.
please make sensible points instead of saying that you watched Location, Location, Location and that told you enough about the area.

Many people living in a 450K house in Kent work in London? I highly doubt the equiv on the outskirts of Glasgow costs 150K? Not the last time I watched LLL on the area.

Lets not bring Clarkson into this. This thread has gone low enough as it is.

Yes thats nice and all but it still doesn't answer the question.

Why does a house in london often cost 10 times what a similar house in the north costs?

And why does a house in Cairo cost less still?

It's a mega-city, overcrowded, growing, huge homelessness problem - all meaning that housing demand is HUGE. Yet, compared to the UK, property is a steal.

I wonder if liquidity has anything to do with it?

OK so how much does the average 3 bed semi on the Outskirts of Glasgow cost?
  • Interesting.

That certainly does not explain the house price difference.

A nice one bed flat in a medium (not the best, not the worst) part of Aberdeen can be had for 80K. Just 35 miles away, a one bed can be had for 50K

And yet a nice one bed flat in london can cost 250K or more.

I know for a fact London wages are not 3 to 5 times higher than Aberdeen wages.

    References?
  • Is there much point going over this again. We had all this in the supply and demand thread a while back. It seems the same people who didnt understand it then still dont understand it now.

You can only live in hope that those that didn't understand before, maybe can become a bit wiser and understand.

If you did not know why did you not leave it to Hamish who would know the answer. Dont worry answering, I know your type who hunt in packs. Hamish and a couple of others used on to do it on HPC. Part of the reason he got trolled trying to bully and belittle. I'll leave you too it.

Maybe you could learn a thing from Really 2, he/she is happy to debat with people with differing opinions without the comments.

is this the point when you've made a totally stupid point about london and kent house prices, so now you've deflected it to being bullied and picked on...

i've seen your type before and how i laughed :rotfl:
