Home Broadband What A Deal!!!

Last Saturday I signed up to O2's Premium Broadband for 1 year.
It costs £14.68 per month for non O2 customers
or just £9.79 per month for O2 customers,
My mobile is with T-Mobile. I checked the O2 website and soon realised to qualify for the discounted rate all I had to do was to get an O2 sim card and top up with just £10!!! Then top up £10 every 3 months.
When you consider the difference between non customers and o2 customers it is £4.89 per month equating to £58.68 for the year !
By getting the sim and topping up £40.00 in one year I saved £18.68! and have £40 of calling credit to use up too !!! better than paying the non O2 rate.
O2 were offering "First 3 months home broadband any package for free", well that meant that I had to pay £9.79 x 9 months for a 1 year contract totalling £88.11 !!! (plus the £40 top ups in phone credit which id use anyway)
I ordered it through Quidco Cashback Website and amazingley I recieve a £100 cashback for O2 premium broadband !!!
So my O2 braodband (20mb unlimited download super fast ) this year is costing me £0.00 !!! I am being paid £11.89 just to have it in my home !!!
AND furthermore, I got a FREE wireless router too !!! now thats not bad for a deal !!!

Hey Loverman007 -
You've calculated your savings based on ordering the O2 Standard package at £14.68/£9.79 - but reckon you're getting £100 cashback from Quidco...
But Quidco only offer £100 on the O2 Pro - which is £22.02/£17.13.
Am I missing something?!0 -
looks like they've changed it
it used to be £125 for the pro, now it's only £100, luckily i just got in and got the £125!!
£6.30/month for a year of broadband = so awesome0 -
Do you need a landline for the broadband?0
-
It is an ADSL package so you do need a BT landline. It is also a 12 month contract.0
-
This monthly rate for o2 is much easier if you have a contract phone, then you do not have to top up every 3 months as with PAYG. It doesn't need to be your own phone either, if someone in the family has an o2 contract, you can use their number."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0
-
Can I do the top up in one go ? instead of every 3 months0

No.
http://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/broadband5 Pay & Go Customers - Minimum Top-Up Requirement
5.1 If you’re a Pay & Go customer and sign-up to a discounted O2 Home Broadband package you need to keep your O2 Pay & Go mobile active (i.e. able to make and receive calls) and satisfy a minimum top-up requirement to keep the discount after your first month of O2 Home Broadband.
5.2 The details of the minimum top-up requirements are:
The O2 Pay & Go mobile used to qualify for the discounted Home Broadband is topped-up by a total at least £10 in the three month period prior to each month’s Home Broadband top-up date (this will always be 3 days before your broadband bill date). This means that if you are due to receive your Home Broadband bill on 4th of each month, then you must make sure your Pay & Go mobile is topped up a total of at least £10 in the three months prior to the 1st of each month (your Home Broadband Top Up Date)
5.3 If you are unable to meet this top-up requirement you will be charged the standard price for your selected Broadband package. If you subsequently fulfil the top up requirements, you will be entitled to receive the discount again for the months in which you meet the top up requirement, but it will not be applied retrospectively to the months where you did not meet the top up requirement. O2 will use its reasonable endeavours to ensure you automatically receive the Home Broadband discount when applicable.
5.4 If you’re an O2 Pay & Go customer and Pay & Go mobile is terminated for any reason or if you port to another mobile provider, you are no longer eligible for the Home Broadband discount and will automatically be charged the standard price for your O2 Home Broadband Package from the date of termination of your Pay & Go mobile or porting to another mobile provider.
6 The Home Broadband discount is available exclusively to customers procuring the O2 Home Broadband service from O2.0 -
They are also offering those who have completed their initial 12 months anther 3 free to sign up for another year....
