laptop internet access via mobile phone
Due to much use of other areas of this site (alright then, it's gambling introductory offers and loopholes!), I would like to purchase a laptop with integrated mobile phone so that I have internet access anywhere that I happen to be.
My current broadband provider (blueyonder) cannot help me.
Does anyone know which companies deal with this, what it would cost to set up (especially the cost of that type of mobile) and what the running costs would be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You would probably be better to set your laptop up with a data card. These devices are similar to mobile phones in that they make use of a SIM card. Service providers often have special tariffs for data transfer.
You can do it with a mobile phone, but I think that the transfer (bit) rates are quite low and the charges for transferring data are therefore quite high.
Here is a link to Oranges' data card section. This will at least provide you with some information of what is available currently, and the associated costings.
