Used one of these vouchers at our local little chef, but have been told never to come back with another one!
We asked on arrival if we could use the voucher, and they said yes, we also asked if kids meals were included in the offer, and they said they were. So we ordered 2 adult meals, and 3 kids meals (which are only 99p full price) and drinks for everyone. When it was time to pay for our delicious food, the woman at the till said that the 50% off only applies to food, not drinks. Then she said the 50%off was only applicable to the kids food. WE TOLD HER that we would only give her exactly half the total amount - which came to £10.60, and that's exactly what we did. So work out 50% of the total bill before paying, take the correct money to the till, and insist that you will not pay any more. Bon appetit!

do you need to print the voucher 2 sided (that is back to back) as I cant seem to line them up properly on the printer.

You only need to print the side which has the space for your name and address on - it also has all the terms and conditions printed on it.

Have just written my letter of complaint to Little Chef, will let you know the outcome.

I went yesterday to the little chef yesterday.
Guy on the till didn't know how to process the voucher so called the manager.

The manager said that they couldn't accept photocopies.
I explained that it had been printed from the internet and not photocopied (balck & white printer).

They were fine.
However I do detect that there seems to be a certain reluctance with these vouchers having read other experiences here.

That's a great shame because if they offer it then they should honour it gracefully.

However I will be trying to print mine out on a colour printer in future to avoid that particular problem.

I have used loads of vouchers with them in the past and had no problem but with this one the money off seems to have got to the point where they resent it.

I too took my family to Little Chef yesterday, and tried to use the 50% voucher. I too had difficulties.

The problem seems to be that there is no '50% off total bill' option available to them on their tills! They have the various other offers - 15% from Little Chef's own site, 25% from Multimap, plus a '50% off excluding drinks' (though don't know where that was is from). But they don't have a '50% off including drinks' option.

That's why the servers are confused, and don't know how to deal with it. For the other offers, they simply press the relevant button and it calculates the deduction.

Anyway, in my case, she sounded content to use the '50% excluding drinks' option, despite the fact that it was NOT giving me the full discount.

Usually I would have complained there and then However, she was already stressed, being the only server in the restaurant that day, and clearly over-stretched. eg. took ages to have our order taken, ages for our sweet order to be taken, our main dishes were never removed (even though we were then given sweet dishes) etc. etc..

Even worse, we had taken our 5 month old baby with us and asked for the free Organix baby food they advertise. They were only able to offer a choice from TWO pots, one for Strawberry Cheesecake, and the other for some sort of Prune pudding. Where were the 'main courses'? They had none! I said I didn't want to give my son a pudding before any main coures. They went away, and seemed to find a pasta jar, but for babies over 7 months old. With nothing else to offer (unfortunately, although we had everything with us, we had forgotten to pack any main course for baby) we tried the pasta. He wouldn't eat it - probably since he's not used to the small lumps of pasta. We eneded up having to give him our own food (we only had pudding with us) and his bottle of milk.

I'm going to have to write a letter to their Head office! I'll include a aomment about their tills not being able to deal with the '50% off total bill' discount!

If anyone has their own website you might consider doing this for M.S.E members.

The 2 4 1 voucher can be saved and edited in ms word and put onto a website for downloading.

That way people can download a voucher and put their own name on it without having to register with little chef. You can even edit dates etc.

Would do it myself but I don't have a site yet

I used the 50% off yesterday at the Little Chef on the A23 travelling to Brighton for the afternoon. Like others the till only subtracted 50% from the food and not the drinks, which made a difference of ~£4 to the overall bill.

I was prepared though and had made sure I'd printed the voucher in "Best" quality so the small print was (just) legible. Took about 10 minutes for the cashier and her manager to decide what to do and finally they asked if I could pay the lower amount in cash as the till couldn't be amended to show the correct (full 50% off) amount.

The manager said he knew of the problem and would be logging it with their helpdesk.
