Anyone had any probs with the 50% coupon,as said earlier mine prints out blurred.0
-
I had no problem using the 50% off voucher at our local Little Chef. The cashier entered the voucher on the till and it automatically took 50% off. Unfortunately the till only took 50% off the food and not the drinks even though I'm sure it says "including drinks" on the voucher. Because the voucher is so blurred the manager insisted it said "excluding drinks". As I couldn't prove otherwise I gave up and accepted the 50% of the food. Still a great saving.
Next time I'll be more cautious about ordering drinks.0 -
This is what the small print says:Valid from 11.00 am until closing time until 30 June 2005. On presentation of this voucher you and your party can claim 50% off the price of your total food bill whenever you order from our main retaurant and dine in the restaurant, including drinks. Not redeemable at Moto service stations.
So you have been 'done' out of the 50% off drinks.
It would be worthwhile sending a copy of your receipt and a brief letter about what happened to their HO, pointing out the small print. (It would benefit everyone, as hopefully they will alert all their restaurants to the poor quality of the coupon print).
Their address:
Little Chef Support Centre, 2nd Floor, Gainsborough House, Houghton Hall Office Park, Dunstable, LU5 5XF - Telephone: 01582 860 200
You can expect them to honour the deal and refund you the money they shouldn't have charged you!0 -
Voucher states you and a party- I travel alot on business
Has anybody tried to use the 50% voucher when dining alone??
How did you get on??
Excuse the use of the mention of Dining and Little Chef in the same sentannceThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Can't see why a single diner can't use it.
If it was only intended for a party of people, then the wording should have been:
"On presentation of this voucher your party can claim 50% off "
As it actually refers to "you and your party", this means the offer is extended to you (alone) and your party (if there is one).
I think they are trying to point out that the coupon is valid for the whole bill, irrespective of how many dine, rather than needing a voucher for each person.
They give these vouchers out to improve sales, so any takeup is a success for them, as there's obviously plenty of profit for them, even when they give 50% off!0 -
If you print this off from the mumplusone site in acrobat it comes out crystal clear0

Although it may be embarrassing to argue with them, don't pay for the drinks, insist on the 50% off the full bill!
The coupon is explicit and includes drinks.
They issue the coupon in the hope that it gets them more business.
You accepted their offer and they can't renege on it!
It is a trading standards matter if they don't honour it!0 -
I've used the 50% voucher quite a few times now at different L/Chef venues and never had a problem. If anyone's worried, try clicking on "best print" rather than "normal print" when you print off and it will be a bit better quality. However, all the restaurants I've visited were aware of them and gave me 50% off the TOTAL bill (including drinks), even though the print was a bit blurred.
They should be aware of ALL vouchers that are acceptable in their venues so, unless you get a "newbie" or someone that's new to the tills, you should not encounter any problems.
Great tip Smartass ... these coupons actually make Little Chefs good value for money and you're saving me (and others I'm sure) a fortune!
:-*Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
